Over the years, Lucy Hale’s hair and makeup have constantly changed. One thing that stays the same is her glow. No matter what color her hair is (it’s currently brown with a hint of pink), how long it is, or what color lipstick she decides to swipe onto her lips, her skin forever looks radiant. Luckily, the actress recently spilled her highlighter secrets to me. We chatted on the phone, so I didn’t get to bask in her glow in person, but it definitely did radiate through the phone.
Hale has sworn by Mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All-Over Face Palette for a while now, she tells me. I was not surprised that she picked an $18 product from Mark., as she has been its brand ambassador since 2013, but I focused on the fact she chose a multicolored powder. A minute or so before, she explained that her highlighter vibe was more on the low-key side. Her exact words were, “I like to go the more natural route.” Turns out the pick comes down to versatility: “You can use it as an eye shadow or as a blush or as a highlighter,” she said.
However, one of Avon’s newest products has been speaking more to Hale’s minimalist beauty routine: the upcoming True Color Illuminating Stick, which launches March 2. “It’s not too intense,” she explained. “It’s really easy to use and really blendable.” Generally, Hale said she’s more into cream highlighters because “they’re easier to blend with my fingers.” Yup, like Sable Yong, one of Allure‘s beauty editors, Hale likes to get handsy with her makeup. “Sometimes I’ll actually do my foundations with my hands,” she says. “My everyday look is very simple, so you don’t really need many tools.”
